SUNDAY SCHOOL AND CHILDREN'S MINISTRYChildren are the greatest gift and the most important responsibility in the life of the family. Our Sunday School and Children's Ministry is a wonderful and exciting faith-based experience. Children learn what it means to celebrate God in their lives in the spirit of His love and our tradition of aloha. Central Union Church is committed providing an atmosphere of loving care for children. At our church, we believe that an individual's lifelong faith journey begins at birth, and we are dedicated to the consistent sharing of God's eternal love. SUNDAY SCHOOLThe Central Union Church Sunday School offers age-appropriate, scripture-based lessons and activities designed to teach children about the meaning of scripture, discipleship, and the Christian faith. Regular attendance at Sunday School offers the opportunity for learning the traditions and stories of our faith. It also provides for the nurturing of faith-based relationships and where values are conveyed. Our teachers and children welcome with aloha and God's love new children in our church school classes. Friends are encouraged to come, too. PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTENCentral Union Church offers a Christian-based early childhood program that promotes spiritual, cognitive, socio-emotional, and physical growth in a nurturing environment and provides a solid foundation for early learning. Our Preschool and kindergarten serves children between the ages of two years nine months and six years. Applications are available starting in October for the following school year. CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRIESOur philosophy at Central Union Church is that children learn Christian values, priorities and responsibilities from their parents. Our Ministry to Children and Families hopes to ease the challenges of Christian parenting in a secular world. WinGSWalking in God's Service is our children's program that ministers to children from nursery age through grade 6. WinGS recognizes that ministry to children goes beyond Sunday morning. It strives to meet the needs of children who have varying learning and emotional abilities. It uses the curriculum "Seasons of the Spirit," a Bible-centered, child-friendly program that blends music, scripture and art into an enjoyable and educational activity. ADVENTURE BIBLE CAMPABC is held the first two weeks in August and at Christmas and Spring Breaks for children age 4 to grade 6. The Adventure Bible Camp has worship time, Bible teaching, games, and crafts, and lots of music. Scholarships are available upon request. NURSERY CAREGentle, loving nursery nannies faithfully care for our infants and toddlers at all programs where children are present.
