Mahalo to the Central Union Church congregation and
our friends in the community.
We have the final totals for our
Christmas Shoeboxes and White Gifts.
Our Hawai'i total came to 32, 398 shoeboxes!
They just kept pouring in, even when we thought we were done. That's 9,000 more than last year, and double the previous year.
We did not get an exact count on White Gifts,
but we gave out about 1,400 gifts in December.
Becky would like to share an excerpt from a letter
we received from the Susannah Wesley Community Center,
where many White Gifts have been sent for many years:
Thank you for the kind and generous gifts given by
members of Central Union Church to needy families in the Kalihi community. Your church family has demonstrated the love of Christ to their neighbors through the gifts and donations to Susannah Wesley Community Center clients.
The gifts to our families might have been the only gift that they received during the Christmas season!
Your faithful support and prayers allow Susannah Wesley Community Center to fulfill its mission to be a place that "Serves as an instrument of God's love to nurture, offer hope, and enhance the well-being of the community."
