Congregational Care

“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves…” Philippians 2:1-4

Our mission at CUC is to “Engage and Embrace ALL as we seek to embody Christ!” By definition, this means that it is important to all of us as a church community to care for one another, just as Christ cares for each and every one of us!

Our Care Ministry is broad and expands from new born babies to a few beloved centennials, and everyone in between, whether they are members of our church or the community.
There are many ways for someone to seek care, though a phone call, e-mail, walking in to our office, and occasionally, sending a note via slug mail. As much as possible, we strive to follow up with all requests within a 24-hour period. In the event of an Emergency (i.e., before or after work hours, or on weekends) we have an Emergency Number, which one of our pastors will always have.

Some of the regular Care needs from our members and visitors include prayer requests (collected during all three Sunday worship services); visitations at hospitals, residential facilities, and residential homes; research and advocacy for members who don’t have family, and fewer requests, but still too many, for basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter.

If you have a Care need that we might be able to help you with, please contact Alice by telephone or e-mail at 440-3007 or

Thank you! Alice Taum
