At-A-Glance
Mission/Vision Statement
The Board of Deaconesses is composed of women church members who participate in a ministry that began in the early days of the church, as reported in the New Testament. The Deaconesses cared for the sick, the injured and the needy. They were dedicated to ensuring that places of worship were prepared for worship services including the holy sacraments.
Today the Board of Deaconesses continue this tradition by assisting the ministers in worship services, visiting those who are unable to attend church and maintaining the items required for communion.
Deaconesses attend and assist at funerals and memorial services, on and off campus. We are also entrusted with funds which enable us to financially assist needy individuals.
To prepare for this ministry of serving the church community each Deaconess is expected to make a commitment to her spiritual growth, through prayer and study.
