Mission/Vision Statement

To provide opportunities for growth in Christian faith to the members and friends of Central Union Church, offering faith-based education and spiritual nurture in both large and small groups.

What is this ministry directed to do?

To regularly evaluate the needs and interests of the congregation; to schedule forums at Learning Tree and throughout the week, encouraging lay people as well as clergy to share their • experiences, talents and ministries in support of our mutual journey of faith.

Sunday Education Hour:

Through most of the year, we offer large and small group programs and presentations. These may be facilitated or taught; they are both clergy and lay led; they attempt to be responsive to the questions of contemporary Christians.

Weekday Options:

There are several small groups organized for study or prayer of spiritual nurture: Wednesday men's Bible study, Wednesday women's prayer group, Wednesday centering prayer and Thursday seminar.

When and what time do we meet?

The Committee meets four times annually to evaluate programs and brainstorm new possibilities. 

Chairman pro tem is Dr. John Houk.
